We are now part of Acora

We are now part of Acora

"Every business has to evolve to ensure it can meet its customers’ changing needs. As we mark our 25th anniversary, the moment was right for us to take the next big step on that evolutionary journey. Joining Acora safeguards highly-skilled local jobs and allows us to continue running and developing our business while providing an even wider range of services and skills to our customers, with whom we enjoy longstanding and close working relationships. This is a carefully-considered move that will benefit everyone involved and is a huge vote of confidence in our people and business model."

Jeremy Clarke, co-founder, Computer Service Centre

We are delighted to announce our merger with Acora, the UK’s number-one managed IT service provider.

Founded in January 1997 by Christopher Cooper and Jeremy Clarke, we specialise in providing IT solutions, services and support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), typically with 10-250 users. Our customer base is nationwide, but predominantly in East Anglia and the South East. Acora works mainly with larger customers (500-5,000 users) across the world in a wide range of industries and sectors.

Both businesses will continue operating under their respective names in the immediate term, with all services brought under the Acora brand in future.

The move secures the jobs of our entire team of around 60 people, who will all continue to work from the our offices in Norwich. Our Directors, Christopher Cooper and Jeremy Clarke are joining Acora’s senior management team. The business and its services remain completely intact, and will be extended over time to cover Acora’s existing SME customers.

We have strong links with Norwich and the wider region, supporting a range of local initiatives and local organisations including the Norwich Castle: Royal Palace Reborn Project, Run Norwich, long-term corporate members of Norwich Theatre Royal and have been long-standing sponsors of the Eastern Daily Press Business Awards.

Christopher Cooper said:

“This move has been very carefully considered over many months, as part of a bigger, long-term plan to evolve and grow the business. We had a number of options, however, by joining Acora, we saw an opportunity to really turbocharge that growth and take us to the next level.

“From the moment we were introduced to Acora, we knew we had found the perfect cultural fit. But this was only the start. Once we got into the detail, we saw the full extent of the possibilities this relationship opened up for our own team, our customers and the local community.”

Jeremy Clarke said:

“This move is the logical next step for us and our anniversary year feels like the ideal moment. In our 25 years, we’ve seen big changes not only in our business, but also in our local economy. Norwich has become a recognised hub for technology-based companies, particularly with the expansion of Norwich Research Park, while the Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor is bringing new companies and investment to East Anglia. Joining Acora gives us the resources to make the most of these fantastic local and regional opportunities.”

“We’ve supported numerous local companies over the years, growing alongside them and becoming an extension of their own teams. We have no plans to change our operating model, as this merger allows us to build on it, extend it across Acora’s existing SME customer base and give our larger customers access to new solutions and services.”
